Wing P

Wing P is a selective post-emergence herbicide from BASF, formulated as a suspension concentrate (SC). It is designed for the effective control of broadleaf weeds in cereal and vegetable crops by rapidly absorbing through the foliage and translocating systemically. Wing P helps maintain crop health by inhibiting weed growth while leaving the crop unharmed. Details

Description

Ingredients & Formulation:

  • Formulation: Suspension Concentrate (SC)
  • Active Ingredient: The precise active ingredient concentration is specified on the label (please refer to the technical documentation for exact details).
  • Packaging: Available in 1 L and 5 L containers.

Mode of Action:

  • Wing P is rapidly absorbed through the foliage and translocated systemically via the xylem and phloem.
  • It works by inhibiting vital metabolic processes, blocking cell division at the growing tips of weeds, and thereby stopping their development.
  • Its selective action protects the crop, as the cultivated plants are able to metabolize the active ingredient without suffering phytotoxic effects.

Directions for Use:

  1. Crops:
    • Suitable for cereal, vegetable, and other registered crops.
  2. Timing:
    • Apply post-emergence when the target weeds are in their early growth stage (typically 2–4 leaves) and when the crop is at its optimal developmental stage (e.g., BBCH 12-39).
  3. Recommended Rate:
    • Apply according to the label instructions (e.g., 0.5–1.0 L/ha), adjusting based on infestation severity.
  4. Preparation:
    • Dilute the recommended dose in the specified volume of water (e.g., 200–400 L/ha) to achieve a uniform spray solution.
  5. Application Method:
    • Uniformly spray the solution over the entire crop area using calibrated sprayers.
  6. Precautions:
    • Wear appropriate protective equipment (gloves, goggles) and follow all safety instructions on the label.
    • Apply under favorable weather conditions (temperatures between 10 and 25°C) and avoid application immediately before or after rainfall; ensure a rain-free period of at least 4–5 hours after application.

Advantages:

  • Provides rapid systemic weed control.
  • High selectivity ensures crop safety from phytotoxic effects.
  • Easy integration into crop management programs without requiring additional adjuvants.
