Tiff 040 OD

Product Description: TIFF 040 OD is a selective systemic herbicide used post-emergence for controlling broadleaf weeds in corn crops. It contains 40 g/L thifensulfuron-methyl and is formulated as an oil dispersion (OD). Details

Description

Mode of Action: Thifensulfuron-methyl inhibits the enzyme acetolactate synthase (ALS), essential in the biosynthesis of branched-chain amino acids, leading to disrupted protein synthesis and, ultimately, inhibition of weed growth and development. The product is primarily absorbed through the leaves and rapidly translocated within the plant, halting weed growth and development. Complete effect is observed 14-20 days after application. TIFF 040 OD is most effective on young weeds in the 4-6 leaf stage. Corn plants can metabolize the product into inactive compounds, providing crop selectivity.

Usage Instructions:

  • Recommended dose: 0.27 L/ha
  • Application timing: In the 1-7 leaf stage of corn (BBCH 11–17).
