Sekator Progress OD

Sekator Progress OD is a selective systemic herbicide formulated as an oil dispersion (OD) designed for the effective control of weeds in cereal crops (wheat, barley, spring barley). The product works rapidly by foliar uptake and systemic translocation, inhibiting weed growth and development without harming the crop. Details

Description

Ingredients & Formulation:

  • Active Ingredients:
    • Amidosulfuron: 100 g/L
    • Iodosulfuron-methyl-Na: 25 g/L
    • Mefenpyr dietyl (safener): 250 g/L
  • Formulation: Oil Dispersion (OD)
  • Packaging: Typically available in 1 L containers (other sizes may be available)

Mode of Action:

  • Sekator Progress OD is rapidly absorbed through weed foliage within the first 2 hours after application and is translocated systemically throughout the plant.
  • It works by inhibiting the acetolactate synthase (ALS) enzyme, crucial for amino acid synthesis, thereby halting weed growth and causing selective necrosis.
  • The OD formulation enhances adhesion and penetration, preventing wash-off by rain if precipitation occurs after at least 2 hours post-application.

Directions for Use:

  1. Crops:
    • Suitable for wheat, barley, and spring barley.
  2. Timing:
    • Apply post-emergence when target weeds are in the early growth stage (typically 2–4 leaves) and the crop is at the tillering stage up to the formation of the first internode (BBCH 21-31).
  3. Recommended Rate:
    • Use between 0.1 and 0.15 L/ha:
      • 0.1 L/ha for moderate infestations.
      • 0.15 L/ha for severe infestations or difficult-to-control weeds.
  4. Preparation:
    • Dilute the recommended dose in 200–400 L of water per hectare for ground applications or 80–150 L/ha for aerial applications.
    • Shake the container thoroughly before adding to the sprayer.
  5. Application Method:
    • Uniformly spray the solution over the entire crop area using calibrated ground equipment.
  6. Precautions:
    • Apply under favorable weather conditions (temperatures between 8 and 25°C).
    • Avoid application in heavy dew or immediately before/after rain; ensure no rain for at least 4–5 hours after application.

Advantages:

  • Highly effective in controlling broadleaf weeds in cereal crops.
  • Modern OD formulation provides superior adhesion and penetration.
  • Fast and systemic action, even under low temperatures (4-5°C).
  • Can be applied up to the appearance of the standard leaf without causing crop phytotoxicity.
