Leopard 5 EC

Leopard 5 EC is a fast-acting post-emergence herbicide designed to control both annual and perennial monocotyledonous weeds. Its formulation, containing Quizalofop-P-ethyl at 50 g/l, ensures rapid absorption and systemic translocation, effectively eliminating unwanted grassy weeds in target crops. Details

Description

  • Quizalofop-P-ethyl: 50 g/l
  • Formulation: EC (Emulsifiable Concentrate)

Mode of Action:
Leopard 5 EC is rapidly absorbed by the foliage of grassy weeds (within approximately 2–3 hours) and is translocated systemically through both the xylem and phloem. It works by inhibiting the synthesis of essential lipids in meristematic cells, effectively stopping weed growth and causing selective death of the target grasses. Within a few days, treated young leaves turn yellow, and the entire plant dries out in about 2 weeks.

Directions for Use:

  1. Timing:
    • For annual monocotyledonous weeds, apply when they are at the 3–5 leaf stage.
    • For perennial weeds, apply when they reach approximately 15–20 cm in height.
  2. Application Method:
    • Apply post-emergence using calibrated ground spraying equipment to ensure even coverage.
  3. Mixing:
    • Dilute the product in a suitable volume of water (for example, 200–400 L per hectare) according to the technical recommendations.
  4. Adjuvant:
    • For enhanced efficacy, mix with an appropriate adjuvant (such as mineral oil or a manufacturer-recommended adjuvant).
  5. Selectivity:
    • Leopard 5 EC is selective for dicot crops, offering protection to these plants while effectively controlling monocotyledonous weeds.

Approved Crops:
This herbicide is suitable for a variety of crops such as rapeseed, sugar beet, tomatoes, cabbage, potatoes, soybeans, beans, alfalfa, peas, and more, where grassy weed infestations are common.
